ARC Review | The Kraken's Sacrifice by Katee Robert

It's official - I've experienced my first kraken romance! Spent the entire book just...

"You have tentacles."
"The sound of a door opening behind me, the slither of tentacles against stone."

All jokes aside, Katee Robert has yet again expanded my mind (and reading habits!) with The Kraken's Sacrifice. My favorite thing about Katee's writing is that she introduces readers to parts of the ~spicy~ community that they might not have otherwise known about, in a massively informed and respectful way, but she does it with wildly adorable mythical creatures with a tortured past and without adding any on-page violence into the mix. Like, yes, I just read a kraken romance where humans are auctioned off to various demon realm leaders to save their respective realms, and the main character has some pre-existing emotional and mental baggage, but the entire book (and every book in this series so far!) was positively fluffy.

Catalina spent this whole book quite literally owned by an actual kraken...but he taught her how to swim, fumbled very realistically through how to take care of someone he's grown to care for, and provided for her specific needs to help her through her anxiety and panic!!! A true gentleman.

This book was a breezy 174 pages, the perfect length to enjoy one afternoon all cozy on the couch.

The Kraken's Sacrifice by Katee Robert will be published on October 11, 2022 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. You can shop for this book and all my recommendations using my Amazon Affiliate link!

As a member of Katee's ARC team and a subscriber to her Patreon (I like this lady, okay?), I get pretty much all her books early - something I am immensely thankful for. My e-file of TKS is an early copy, meaning it hasn't gone through copy edits and could have some minor changes as of pub day. Any quotes I've shared are not guaranteed to be exact on pub day, and I'll do my best to update them should there be any inconsistencies! Thank you SO MUCH to Katee and her team for the opportunity to read such fun books before the masses.
